The view from the Hanggliding site
Lunch with the Bandung and Jakarta riders.
Avocado and chocolate drink, very popular in Indonesia. I prefer seafood or chicken with my avocado.
No shortage of good food here.
Goat sate and goat curry with a plate of green chilli.
Family photos. We met up with the gang from Jakarta at Puncak.
Tina and I took a walk around Bandung before it got too hot. Then Dendy and Bowo escorted us out of Bandung in the morning and laboured through the traffic for 2 hours before stopping for morning tea. The plan was to meet up halfway with some of the riders from Jakarta.
The short track up from Puncak to the takeoff of the hanggliding site.

Day 5 - Cilacap to Bandung
Worker in the field
Kids tending their goats.
Transportation of local produce.
Sunrise over Cilacap.
Fishing boats.
I got up early to get some sunrise photos then rode to the border for lunch, then the final stretch into Bandung. The main road was closed and we had to detour along some parallel roads. An interesting route, the roads would have suited the v-strom or a dirt bike. We ran into the Bajaj Motorcycle Club (BMC) and rode with them for 40 mins. We stopped to chat and found out they are riding to Bandung too. However, we decided continue on without them. Once we were in Bandung I missed a couple of turns and added 1 and half hours to the ride to the hotel. So we are beat and will have a short rest before we go out for dinner with the brothers.

Day 4 Wonosobo to Cilacap
Today we rode down toward Yogya to Borobudur. A magnificent Buddhist temple 1100 years old. Here we met up with Dpouwel and 4 other Adv riders who escorted us half way to Cilacap. The road was potholed and slow in parts, but I loved every bit of it. We stopped by the side of the road about 70 kms out of Cilacap to chat with some kids watching their goats. This was a very memerable part of the ride.

Day 3 - Wonosobo to Dieng Plateau
Tina blowing off steam.
Tina gets a mouthful.
View from the top of the hill along the road behind the Theatre.
Diddle-dee-dee-potatoe.
Diddle-dee-dee-potatoe.
After an early breakfast we headed up to the Dieng Plateau and were treated to a spectacular vista and refreshingly cool weather. We had fried bananas, BBQ corn on the cob, sticky rice, fried tofu for lunch. Sightseeing included volcaneo craters, boiling mud, sulfer vents and steam. The ADV guys here have been exceptionally helpful. Dpouwel suggested I take the bike up a track behind the theatre for a good view and he wasn't kidding. It was the best view of the day. The Bajaj is still running well. I had fried fish and Tina had griled fish for dinner. Details to follow as usual.
